We are are diligent in
our efforts to reduce as
much spam as possible
for our clients hosted
on our servers. We take
spam seriously and
implement strict rules
and guidelines against
spam sent through or
from our servers. There
is ZERO tolerance for
any of our users sending
spam; if a user is
suspected of using spam
we will approach them in
a professional manner,
evaluate the situation
and if proven they have
used our servers to
propagate
spam they shall be banned as
well as their site taken
down from our server. Their
will be no exceptions
unless proven otherwise.
Our mail server is set
up to combat spam to a
certain degree. We do
not fully prevent the sending
of all email messages
marked spam to email
accounts on our
servers; otherwise it is
possible that legitimate
email messages may also
be prevented as well. In
order to prevent spam,
our spam filters mark
the email subject line
with [SPM] so that you
may decide for yourself
if the message is truly
spam.
Make use of the [SPM]
subject line tag
You can further
utilize the [SPM] tag in
the subject line to set
up mail rules to further
process your email using
an email client to move
mail marked with [SPM]
to a Junk Mail or Spam
folder of your choosing.
Most of the spam sent
through our server is
caught by our spam
filters and verification cross
checks, however some
legitimate mail may also
be caught. In addition,
the messages we receive
that do not appear to
get flagged as spam and
do appear to be spam we
further scrutinize by
adding them to our
banned list of IP
addresses.
Banning IP addresses and
address ranges
IP Addresses
that are added to our
list of denied servers
are added
so that they are not
allowed to communicate
with our mail server
whatsoever and
will remain banned until
requested by the
computer, network or
company that owns the
computer in violation to
be taken off. Most, if
not all, IP addresses to
be shown outside of the
U.S. will remain on our
banned list until
otherwise legitimately requested to
be taken off and then
put on a watch list for
further violations.
The majority of major ISPs
in the U.S. that come
across as a violation of
our spam policies will
have a notification sent
to their network spam
abuse contact
information via email.
This will allow the ISP
to further scrutinize,
assess the IP address in
violation and correct
the issue on their end.
In addition to banning
specific IP addresses we
also further ban entire
ranges of IP addresses
if additional IP
addresses in the same
range as a previously
banned IP address show
up as sending spam.
